Paper Lanterns & Pom Poms
I have a small obsession with paper lanterns and pom poms. I decided to add a little flair to Gavyn's room and he loves it. They are fun for him to look at. It's a good thing I don't have a girl, she would have so many pom poms it would be outright tacky! I will have to remove them before too long, I'm sure. When he outgrows the baby stage and moves on into the world of trucks, airplanes and space shuttles. For now, we will enjoy...

The Weekend
I'm so glad Molly got to come and see us. We had so much fun playing with the kids, catching up, eating and shopping. The boys got a couple of new windup toys that Gavyn thought were hysterical. He started belly laughing when I showed him the ladybug in the store. We also saw a whole crew of baby walking sticks outside our front door on a candle stick. They were kinda cute and were capturing. We had never seen baby walking sticks before. The weather turned out to be beautiful and we were sad to take Molly back to the airport.

I'm about to go pick Grayson up from school, and then we are off to get Molly at the airport. I haven't seen her in so long and I am so glad she is coming to see us. Marc has babysitting duties tomorrow while we go to a movie. I'm 99% sure he's already called for back up. Grayson picked some flowers yesterday for her bathroom and they are so pretty.
I think the best party about having company, other than the actual company, is having a really clean house for once. All the toys are picked up and I can actually walk through the house without stepping on a Monster Truck or Lego piece. Have a great weekend!

Recycled Art
I found a cute art project at Make and Takes that uses old egg cartons. We made flowers with pipe liner, tissue paper and an old egg carton. We also made some bugs, which Grayson said were ants. He loved playing with the ants after the dried. I tried to teach Grayson a little about Earth Day and explained to him we were recycling and reusing an egg carton rather than just throwing it away. Who knows what really registered with him, but we had fun. If you are interested, click here to learn how to do it.

Homemade Baby Food
I wish I would have made Grayson homemade baby food like I do for Gavyn. I don't know why, but the thought never even crossed my mind. Maybe Grayson would be more excited about different vegetables and fruits. I don't make all of Gavyn's food, but I try to make him as much as I can. I have tasted all the food I've made and it's really pretty good. Shockingly, Gavyn loves zucchini the best. He just can't get enough. I don't really use any recipes, I just come up with my own. I try to mix flavors that I like to eat together. If you have a baby or are pregnant you should definitely think about making your own food. It's just so easy to do and so much better for the baby. All you need is a steamer pot, blender, and a ice cube tray to freeze the bulk of the food.
